As part of our lecture series about female artists in the art world, Los Angeles based artist Alexandra Grant will be at the Museum to discuss Feminism Ideals and her practice. Grant describes her practice as, "a writer who writes with materials." She is interested in how language shapes our perception of others and the world. Grant's boldly colored canvas incorporates text and phrases to convey her thoughts. She has worked with many community based art organizations and has also set up her own foundation to provide grants for various local art programs.
