My City, My River Middle School Juried Art Show

3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Over time as Los Angeles continued to grow, the need to control the river's flow led to creating the concrete channels we see today. In recent times, the surrounding communities have become aware of how vital it is to have a healthy river. Communities understand the potential the river has to reconnect neighborhoods through creating park lands. In this show Middle School student artists were asked to reflect on the re-development of the LA River and how it will affect Long Beach.  For this exhibition the students have created work envisioning public space at the LA River.
