More about Star Book - Bookmaking Workshop with Sue Ann Robinson

Join exhibiting artist Sue Ann Robinson for a day and a half Star Book Bookmaking Workshop at the Long Beach Museum of Art. Over the course of the weekend, participants will explore the sculptural possibilities of the book form while learning the techniques to create their own star book, a structure that opens into a stunning three-dimensional shape. Participants will gain hands-on experience in folding, cutting, and binding techniques while learning about the history and artistry of the artist book.

Light refreshments and beverages will be provided by Claire's at the Museum Restaurant

All materials are provided, and no prior bookmaking experience is necessary. Participants will leave the workshop with a completed star book and a deeper appreciation for this unique and expressive art form. No prior book-binding experience is required, but we will be sewing the book together with thread and needles.

Programming is graciously supported by The Kenneth T. and Eileen L. Norris Foundation, the Pasadena Art Alliance, and the Bess J. Hodges Foundation.
