About the Exhition

Permanent Collection: Recent Acquisitions highlights a selection of artworks that came to the Long Beach Museum of Art in 2025. This exhibition offers a glimpse into the collection's continued growth as the museum celebrated its 75th anniversary last year. LBMA is proud to showcase these works, many of which are being displayed for the first time.

At the center of this exhibition are the donors. Notable contributions were made by the Hartman family, Ralph Allen Massey, and The Mark and Hilarie Moore Collection. LBMA also maintains ongoing relationships with galleries, which are essential in helping the museum expand its collection of contemporary art.

When objects enter the permanent collection, they are placed in the museum’s care to be shared with the public for generations to come. As the collection continues to evolve, LBMA remains committed to fostering connections with donors and ensuring that art is accessible now and in the future.
