Sunsets at LBMA: Live and Local, an evening of music curated by Good Luck Vinyl Club
Night 2: Sunsets at LBMA: Live and Local, an evening of music curated by Good Luck Vinyl Club
Sunsets at LBMA brings together an all-women lineup of musicians and vinyl DJs, celebrating the incredible depth of Southern California's music community while creating the perfect soundtrack for an evening by the ocean.
The evening begins with Trankis of the acclaimed all-women Chulita Vinyl Club, followed by a live performance from Oralia, whose lush blend of jazz, bossa nova, and global influences creates an intimate sunset atmosphere. Throughout the night, Good Luck Vinyl Club keeps the energy flowing with vinyl DJ sets between performances.
Headlining the evening are The Aquadolls, Long Beach's beloved "Mermaid Rock" quartet. Enjoy an opportunity to see one of the city's most recognizable indie acts in the unique setting of the Long Beach Museum of Art. The evening concludes with a vinyl set by Stoned Jett, who also serves as the lead singer of Oralia—bringing the night's musical journey full circle.
Together, this thoughtfully curated lineup reflects Sunsets at LBMA's commitment to showcasing outstanding local talent, elevating women in music, and creating memorable cultural experiences that connect the Long Beach community through art, music, and place.
About the Exhibition
Positive Fragmentation includes over 180 prints drawn from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation, each a work by a contemporary artist who employs fragmentation in different ways. Feminist scholar and critic, Lucy Lippard, describes positive fragmentation, or the “collage aesthetic,” as particularly suited to historically marginalized artists (including women), as it “willfully takes apart what is or is supposed to be and rearranges it in ways that suggest what it could be.”
